This New Years Weekend In Techno Town

New Years Eve will have the usual block parties on Church Street and Wall Street plus a new one described below on Court Street. All the downtown bars and clubs will be open of course and the City of Orlando has extended downtown serving hours from 2AM to 3AM meaning some venues will remain open until close to 4AM! So here's our rundown of this weekend's top events:

TONIGHT WEDNESDAY DEC 27
Back in the early days of The Blog, a weekly event called Takeovr was often featured starring DJ's Joey Paranoia (USA) and Winston Wolfe (USA). Tonight they return, this time to Aero Bar, and there is no cover charge! With Aero resident DJ Cliff T and special appearance from DJ Dr. Khan!  EDM.

THURSDAY DEC 28
When she played The Social this past May, it was completely sold out so if you're planning on going, get an advance ticket now because you can't count on getting one at the door!  DJ Nora en Pure (CH) returns to The Social tomorrow night! Always amazing!  Deep House.

THURSDAY DEC 28
Thursday night means the Secret Elevator Party at Monkey Bar in Wall Street Plaza, although you can also use the secret stairs to get up to it!  Tomorrow night, they've got the return of Berlin-based DJ Chad Andrew (USA/D) along with X-Andy, Rob Prynge, Edis & Georg:Ev.  House.

FRIDAY DEC 29
DJ Kimball Collins (USA) is back where he belongs behind the decks this Friday night at Vinyl Arts Bar, helping celebrate DJ Romano Arcaini's (D/USA) birthday along with Owner DJ Wilson Santos (USA).  Progressive House.

FRIDAY DEC 29
Peek Downtown goes Trance this weekend, beginning Friday night with DJ Agni (IS/USA), duo Digital Groove Project (USA) & DJ Robb Blak (USA)!  Trance / House / Progressive House.

SATURDAY DEC 30
Playing only Trance Classics, DJ Suzy Solar (USA) & DJ Brian Benning (USA) bring the year to a close at Peek Downtown with a second night in a row of the good stuff!  Trance Classics.

SUNDAY DEC 31
Special NYE Option #1 is the "Prismatic Era" block party on Court Street between Central & Pine. Featuring a huge line up on two stages that includes Supernaut, Si-Dog Silas, Matrix, Heather Collins, Prophecy, Jennifer Marley and too many to list!  Advance tickets here gets you the best price!  House / Breaks.

SUNDAY DEC 31
Special NYE Option #2 is the party at Gilt Nightclub featuring DJ duo/trio Cash Cash (USA). Advance tickets are recommended here.  EDM.

Walt Disney World only has one remaining owned & operated dance club and it's Atlantic Dance Hall located at Disney's Boardwalk Resort. Their annual NYE party usually draws a good crowd and the $53.25 admission includes snacks & treats, hat & noisemakers, champagne toast at midnight and a view of EPCOT fireworks at midnight. DJ Willy (USA) returns again this year.  Call Disney Dining for advance reservations although it's been years since they sold out.  Top 40 / Line Dances.
